United Nations Development Programme Office (UNDP) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional to fill in a position of Administrative Assistant/Interpreter for its project “European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine”
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Project Title: EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine
Post Title: Administrative Assistant/Interpreter
Duty Station: Timkove-Slobidka, Ukraine
Work schedule: fulltime working week (40 hours), including night shifts.
Duties and responsibilities:
Under direct supervision of the Head of Field Office the incumbent will discharge the following functions:
• Assures smooth operational running of the project by means of following UNDP and EC established operational rules and procedures;
• Participates in project activities preparation, implementation and follow up;
• Provides logistical support (travel arrangements, including visas, tickets, etc.) to the project team;
• Facilitate the process of procurement and delivery of goods and services;
• Facilitates project audit, monitoring, evaluation, field visits, missions of the experts;
• Maintain updated networks of project counterparts, contractors, consultants and suppliers;
• Prepares project related correspondence;
• Participates in data collection, analysis and maintenance of projects related files;
• Assures that the progress reporting is done in timely and quality manner based on the requirements of the UNDP and project donors;
• Maintains contacts with UNDP CO on a variety of the operational issues;
• Contributes to the preparation of the project bulletins, promotion materials and project web-site update;
• Facilitates project outreach/communication efforts;
• Provides oral and written translations from English into Ukrainian or Russian and vice versa as required by the project;
• Proofreads and/or edit the project’s correspondence and other official documents;
• Performs other functions/tasks when required.
Basic requirements for the incumbent:
• University degree, preferably in Linguistics;
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably in international environment;
• Excellent fluency (both oral and written) in the English, Ukrainian and Russian languages;
• Experience with technical assistance projects is an asset;
• Ability to work in team;
• Ability to work under continuous pressure and meet deadlines;
• Energetic optimistic approach to all possible problems;
• Strong computer skills.
